Sub-Contracted Works
What are sub-contracted works?
Many of our clients operate as primary sub-contractors for organisations that build, maintain, or manage large portfolio's of properties. These organisations include Housing Associations, Property Developers and Local Authorities.
The organisation commissions and pays for the work, and often stipulates installation criteria specific to each contract.
The main difference between funded works?
Most often the biggest difference is that work is provided in bulk.
A contract might involve many dozens or even hundreds of properties with phased delivery where applicable. This creates unique challenges in terms of tracking delivery progress, and can often lead to quite onerous administration.
Is compliance still important?
Always! Sub contracted works will usually have to comply with Buiding Regulations, MCS, Trustmark or GasSafe guidance, as well as potentially additional requirements imposed by the principle contractor.
Often works contracted out by Local Authorities will also need to meet the requirements of one of the Warm Homes schemes.
How Instalr works for sub-contract
Recognising the unique challenges of bulk contracts, Instalr provides for bulk import of property/resident details via excel/csv. These can be tagged with an import reference allowing easy visibility of progress across batches.
Additionally each property can tagged with a funding channel and scheme, allowing further filtering of works in progress.
Principle contractors can be given access to our web portal, allowing them access to view the progress of their works, without the need for your staff to produce weekly update reports.
Progress reports and costings can be produced by property, scheme or funding channel, providing a clear view of profitability from "whole contract" down to "individual property".
